My teaching philosophy is grounded in linguistic research on second language acquisition and focusses on building a strong long-term foundation in the Danish language. My lessons use an active approach that will help you develop your active Danish skills from the very first lesson. But I will be more than just a conversation partner, I will provide grammatical explanations, detailed feedback on your Danish and engaging materials for us to work with. These include readings materials and audio recordings suited to your level, discussion questions, images, and exercises that help you develop on your use of grammar and build your vocabulary. My classic language lessons are designed to help you develop all aspects of your Danish, by which I mean your speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills, as well as expand your vocabulary. I also include a little grammar but not so much that it becomes boring. My conversation lessons will help you express your thoughts and understand native speech with ease. Both my classic language lessons as well as my conversation lessons are designed to take you from total beginner to native level. But in the end it is you who decides what you most want to work on. I will design each class specific to your learning needs and goals.
